Spring break 2014 started out like this:
yes, that's 5 kids under age 8 and 3 adults stuffed into my van, we road trip in style around here, we all carpooled together up to Kansas to visit my parents
our trip to Kansas included a birthday celebration for Milo
sister time
snuggles with grandpa
a visit to the science museum where grandpa volunteers
dinosaur digs
experiments
and Jaxon being crazy.
I tried my hand at cosmetology and highlighted Danielles, hair, let's just say she's brave, or crazy, it turned out okay, thank goodness.
we also went roller skating, the kids had more fun gliding on the "walkers" than they did skating, which was fun for them, they had the rink to themselves so they could do whatever they wanted
three little skaters, check out Jaxon's hair, that kid is a sweaty, sweaty boy
we did a little cookout outside
and Jaxon made this super awesome marshmallow roasting hat, those are marshmallow roasters hanging off of it and the pictures are cooked marshmallows
then, after a quick three-day trip, we got back in the car
on the way home we made a pit-stop in Oklahoma, Garrett happened to be there on business right along our path home, so we had some family ice cream pie time
we were all happy to be home, Hudson missed his daddy
we got home late Wednesday, and by Thursday afternoon we were back in the van, this time loaded down to go camping
we had a great time playing with our friends
they have 3 girls and one baby boy, so Madison is in heaven when we get together
the kids begged to get in the lake, so we finally gave in, it was freezing, notice how all the girls are fine, but Jaxon is throwing a pansy fit
Jaxon made up for acting like a little sissy by rolling around in the sand and completely covering himself in a nice layer, he's such a boy
the kids always love eating outside, our friends were super smart and just brought a lamp for light, way easier than a dumb lantern!
Hudson did great on his first camping trip!
We had Hudson sleep in the van with me and everyone else slept in the tent. I slept terribly and it was super uncomfortable, but it was warmer for him and he didn't wake everyone up all night
once again, we tried and failed at fishing, if you ever want to fish, don't bring the Wise family
then it was back in the car one last time to head home! We were super tired and dirty at that point, but it was a very fun, busy spring break.
